Our Learning Center Curriculum

Supporting The Development Of The Whole Child

At Picket Fence Learning Center, our curriculum is designed to support each child’s physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language development in a nurturing and engaging environment. We recognize that every child learns differently, which is why we incorporate individual learning styles, interests, and cultural experiences into daily classroom activities.
Our program integrates important learning areas including literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, creative expression, technology, health and safety, and the arts. Through hands on learning experiences and guided play, children are encouraged to explore, ask questions, solve problems, and build confidence in their everyday learning journey.
We proudly implement the Creative Curriculum approach, which is research based and designed to encourage open ended learning experiences that support school readiness and long term development. Teachers actively observe, listen, and interact with children daily to better understand their interests, strengths, and developmental progress.

Interactive & Hands On Learning

Encouraging Creativity, Exploration & Independence

Children at Picket Fence Learning Center are encouraged to actively participate in classroom experiences, decision making, and collaborative activities. Our classrooms are designed to promote creativity, communication, social interaction, and independent thinking through engaging group projects and hands on learning opportunities.
Teachers regularly rotate materials and refresh classroom environments to introduce new concepts, topics, and experiences that keep children engaged and excited to learn. Children also have opportunities to interact with classmates of various ages, helping strengthen communication skills, confidence, teamwork, and social development.
The Illinois Early Learning Standards are used as a guide to help ensure learning experiences remain meaningful, age appropriate, and developmentally supportive for every child.

Staff Curriculum Training

Ongoing Training That Supports Quality Education

All staff members are introduced to our curriculum models during the orientation process and complete formal curriculum training within their first 90 days of employment. Our teaching team receives ongoing support and guidance to help create engaging classroom experiences that encourage learning, exploration, and positive child development.
Teachers are trained to observe children carefully, adapt learning activities when needed, and create meaningful opportunities that support both individual growth and classroom collaboration.
